What is intuition?

The Meaning and Purpose of Intuition

Intuition means learning from within.

All forms of meditation involve intuition and so do many creative processes.

Intuition is your inner tutor.

The root word of “tuition” is the latin word tuitiō which means to watch or observe, and intueri which means to perceive directly without reasoning, or to know by immediate perception. Intueri is also the Latin root word for "to tutor".

The act of intuition is an act of observation where you are placing attention within.

This is often defined as “thinking without thinking” because while you are in this state, the active thinking process is temporarily suspended.

Intuition is beyond thought. It is a form of direct perception, where meaning is not derived from thinking or from experience of the senses.

The product of intuition is direct knowing or insight, which often changes meaning, experience or beliefs.

Invoking the intelligence and knowledge of intuition requires us to use processes that are beyond thinking.

Many of us have become skilled at thinking and unskilled in intuition.

We weren’t taught to use these processes which have great impact on being able to live more consciously with more choice and freedom in our lives and aspirations for meaning and fulfillment.

The act of presence is to be installed in the state of intuition.

The purpose of intuition is to maintain continuous connection with our inner being and to see and know beyond conditioning and known facts. It is a powerful way to discern truth at a glance and to see what is real. It is a perpetual freedom state set in the present, free of time, from of space, free of limitation, free of gravity.

Intuition also has a direct connection to our imaginal resources, which are used in the process of creating. It is the gestational source of imagination.
