FROM READERS: "This isn't a storybook Grandma. This is a True Book."
"Daddy, read me that story again please, the one with the soft brown
sand"
From a Native Healer "I was clearly guided to find this
book"
Many readers have shared with us stories of healing experiences with Vision-Peace, or getting the book under unusual circumstances when they needed it. Except for a brief time retailing at Chapters stores in Canada, the book has been sold exclusively through word of mouth.
The Children of Vision-Peace was present at the inaugural meeting of World Peace University in Costa Rica presented to Robert Mueller, Director and Former U.N. Chancellor.
In December 1999 it was read by Julia Morton-Marr, Director of International School Peace Gardens to 400 child-delegates at the United Nations Conference held in North America and attended by children from U.S., Canada & Mexico, who were working on millenium projects for a better world.
In 2005 His Holiness the Dalai Llama blessed the book with "hopes that this will help many children to be more aware about peace" and the “Hundred Years of Peace Project”, where children from all over the world commit to spending several minutes in peace practices."

Author's Message:
We must dream before we can create. Amid often brutal realities of aggression, child labour, child poverty and stress in today's world we need to assure our children safe passage and loving arms. More importantly we have to realize "who" they are and what they bring with them. As spiritual beings they are as "large" as we are and more aware of truth. They come here with the seeds of what they will create and how they will fulfill their unique paths. They are here to create a new world - a world that we lack the imaginative capacity to even conceive. Let us give them room, support their vision and draw out their myriad gifts, some that we cannot yet comprehend. We have to become comfortable realizing we see only in part, the rest is revealed through the heart. What we all need most is the "experience of love". This is this book's most precious gift - children and adults closely and affectionately sharing the experience of the story and drawing each other inside Helen's amazing images, which engage us into a passage of heart. Help us to spread this message "so that all children on earth can become Children of Vision-peace."
Artist's Message:
Painting for me is an adventure, where there is no room for preconceived ideas about the outcome. My subject matter then becomes a mirror for my own inner process and imagination. Painting from such a perspective, and from that same quiet space found during meditation and my healing work all outside concerns fall away allowing spirit and spontaneity to dance and play without interference from conventional expectations. This allows the magic to reveal itself without letting the "logical" mind get in the way. Because art is intensely personal, I always encourage the viewer to "feel" the painting, and to give it permission to speak to them without the blinders of someone else's interpretation.Studies with a number of exceptional healers in a variety of settings have created fertile ground for both the logical (nurse) and creative (artist) mind to thrive and grow. Most of my work is based on my own healing journey, or on journeys shared with others. I hope my paintings will resonate with you and your children as you each travel your own unique path.
It has been incredibly rewarding to see children's reactions to my work. They seem to delight in finding the many images within images, and almost always discover the "inside pictures" before the adults. I hope as you share this book with the young people in your life, you will enjoy their reactions as much as I do.
